Disable saving to Cloud
Microsoft now tries to default saving to OneDrive, which can become a security risk when working with sensitive documents. To disable this do the following:
- In a Microsoft application (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), go to File → Options → Save
- Uncheck AutoSave files stored in the Cloud by default in <PROGRAM>. This step must be done individually for Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Uncheck Show additional places for saving, even if sign-in may be required
- Check Save to Computer by default
- Click on OK at the bottom to save the changes

Turning Off ‘Security Risk’ notice
Microsoft cannot add network locations as trusted locations. The workaround is to add network locations as Trusted Sites in Internet Options.

- Go to Internet Options from your Start Menu
- Then click on Security → Trusted Sites
- Click on Sites
- Uncheck Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone otherwise we can’t add network locations
- Add network locations such as:
- file://192.168.1.224 (NAS)
- file://192.168.1.225 (NAS)
- file://192.168.1.18 (Sharon)

Turn off Enable Content Warning
When you open any files with VBA macros or macros in general, Office will warn you to enable content before running it. This is a security feature and should remain enabled. But if you still prefer to have this disabled, follow these instructions after speaking with IT.
- In any Microsoft application, go to File → Options → Trust Center
- Click on Trust Center Settings
- In the Trust Center, click Macro Settings, then select Enable all macros (not recommended; potentially dangerous code can run).
- Click OK
